Jo Johnson keeps job as May attempts to shore up support

Theresa May has kept Jo Johnson in post and will today seek parliamentary support from the Democratic Unionist Party.

Confusion reigns over whether the prime minister will be able to form a strong enough government to draft a Queen’s Speech in time for its due delivery date of 19 June, with conflicting reports throughout yesterday on whether or not it would be delayed. Jeremy Corbyn is due to form his shadow cabinet today. Meanwhile European Union negotiators are getting impatient ahead of Brexit talks that may or may not begin within days. It is now three months since Article 50 was triggered.
