Jo Johnson visits Universities UK to deliver a strong message, but are vice-chancellors listening?

Yesterday vice-chancellors gathered at Brunel University on the edge of London for the second day of Universities UK’s annual conference. The morning session saw Janet Beer make her inaugural speech as president of UUK and an address from Jo Johnson, universities and science minister. The exchange was cordial but it also announced issues of genuine significance.
