Unexplained improvements

Today’s report on grade inflation will make uncomfortable reading for some universities.

Team GB returned from the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece with 30 medals, nine of them gold, and an overall ranking of 10th. In 2008, GB ranked fourth, reaping 51 medals including 19 golds. In 2012, GB rose to third position overall, with 65 medals, 29 of which were gold, won on home soil. At the most recent games, in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, GB finished second, claiming 67 medals in total.

Needless to say, this is a very concerning case of grade inflation.
