Labour by the sea

The Labour Party gathers in Liverpool for what could be its last annual conference before a general election.

Delegates at the annual Labour get-together have a lot on their minds. Not all of it is necessarily outward-looking at this point in time.

There will be those arriving in Liverpool who are looking to push the case for the mandatory reselection of MPs, or “open selection” to use the jargon. There will be others concerned, for good or ill, by the summer-long debacle around the adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition and examples of anti-Semitism.
