The KEF has landed

Research England has released a consultation on the Knowledge Exchange Framework.

Just as some institutions are considering their responses to multiple questionnaires on the Universities Superannuation Scheme, the latest higher education consultation is landing this morning in the inboxes of university managers. It is time for universities to offer up their thoughts on the Knowledge Exchange Framework.

The KEF consultation tells us something about the difference between the temporality of politics and the time of policy. It was Jo Johnson who first mooted the possibility of a KEF when under pressure as universities minister and looking for a distraction from the “major review” of funding promised by Theresa May, which he was resisting/in denial about [delete as appropriate].
