On Wednesday, an event was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Sir Charles Percy Snow’s lecture: The Two Cultures and the Scientific Revolution.
Snow’s lecture fired up a debate on inadequate science literacy among Britain’s ruling elite—a debate that remains alive to this day.
Fittingly, the commemorative event, hosted by the Foundation for Science and Technology, took place at two venues: it started at the British Academy at 10 Carlton House Terrace, before the 100 or so participants got up at the halfway point and walked a few yards to number 6, home to the Royal Society.
