You may recall that back in July 2018, we were among the first publications to cover a legal case brought by Salman Butt, who—among other things—challenged the lawfulness of Prevent guidance. He argued that it failed to comply with the duty outlined in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 to have particular regard to ensuring free speech in higher education institutions.
