A student number cap may be on the way as the fallout from Covid-19 continues

When dealing with an earthquake, it is important to be prepared for aftershocks, which can be as devastating as the original incident. The Covid-19 outbreak is an earthquake of sorts, but the immediate challenge in a pandemic is to slow the rate of infection.

The next seven days will be vital in determining which way this outbreak is headed in the UK. We have a long way to go before we are out of the woods, and it is clear that the landscape of higher education and research will be different on the other side of all this.
