It’s day two of the latest UCU strike action, but the world continues to revolve
The last time Playbook decided to follow a group of University and College Union members marching to a rally in support of the pension dispute—back in the days BC (before Covid)—we picked up an £80 fine for driving into a controlled bus lane. Not keen on repeating that experience, we sent Chris Parr to speak to staff on strike outside London campuses yesterday.
He brings us compelling first-hand testimony from university staff gathered around the metaphorical brazier. Here we are again in the middle of higher education’s winter of discontent. Or December as it’s known by other people, since UCU strike action has become an annual event.
