Same old, same old

There’s still no higher education white paper, but that won’t stop the papers from speculating

There is something a little bit fascinating about the ways in which the daily papers describe niche higher education concepts. Playbook does not concern itself too much with trying to simplify things like the Resource Accounting and Budgeting charge or the Research Excellence Framework, because we know our well-informed readers need no such hand-holding.

Understandably, though, that is not the case for more general audiences. Over the weekend, there was yet another glut of broadsheet stories focusing on higher education (see our full news roundup below), including in The Telegraph—which once again pointed both barrels at “Mickey Mouse” university courses.
