It’s a big day as universities await the outcome of two ballots
The results of two separate votes will determine much of what happens in UK higher education in the coming months. The first is a ballot of Conservative MPs, as the party once again starts the process of finding a new leader and de facto prime minister; the second is the aggregated ballot on pensions and pay for members of the University and College Union.
The UCU has called a press conference for 1pm today to reveal the outcome of votes for industrial action over changes to the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) and over pay and conditions. The event will be broadcast live on YouTube; you can watch it here.
