The fallout from UCU indefinite strike action and the OfS’s annual report

Just when you thought 2022 had served up more than enough crazy to power a new-generation fusion reactor—from the 36-hour education secretary to the 49-day reign of Queen Liz—the Higher Education Committee of the University and College Union has looked at the raging dumpster fire that is UK higher education and said, “hold my beer”.

As we reported in yesterday’s Playbook, the union’s HEC has proposed indefinite strike action in all UK universities from February. They also called for a marking and assessment boycott starting in January.
