Michelle Donelan attacks “wokeism” in science, on a day of contrasting realities for the Tories
Last night, with rail strikes scheduled for today, the only thing certain here in Manchester was that seats were at a premium as Conservative Party members and Manchester United fans competed for a berth on the last train back to London. It is not clear which tribe had witnessed the most shocking display.
The morning plenary session was the chance for Michelle Donelan, secretary of state for science, innovation and technology, to shine. Unfortunately, like the great Sam Cooke, she demonstrated that she “don’t know much about biology”.
