Could an end to the industrial dispute over pensions be imminent?

It is something of a relief this morning that Playbook can briefly turn away from the party political conference melee and bring you some good old-fashioned higher education news, encompassing two of our favourite topics: the Universities Superannuation Scheme dispute and the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education.

Let’s take them in order. Later today, Universities UK and the University and College Union are set to ratify an agreement that could potentially bring an end to the long-running industrial dispute over USS pensions. At least for now.
