Playbook discusses degree apprenticeships with University of Reading vice-chancellor Robert Van de Noort

If you have ever heard Robert Halfon speak for more than three minutes then there is a decent chance you will have heard him talk about degree apprenticeships. Halfon has taken his passion for the courses into his role as minister with responsibility for higher education, but it was evident long before that—in particular during his years as chair of the Westminster education select committee.

Halfon is on record as saying that all universities that do not currently offer degree apprenticeships should begin to do so, and he wants those that already do so to offer more. After all, “degree apprenticeships” are his “two favourite words in the English language”, he often tells us.
