Does a report on the economic impact of research-intensives tell the whole story?

London Economics is a busy consultancy. Earlier this month, partner Gavan Conlon was on tour with the Higher Education Policy Institute to disseminate a pre-election report on student finance systems across the UK, as covered in Playbook.

This morning, another report from the consultancy hits the newsstands—an economic impact analysis for the Russell Group of research-intensive universities. As you might imagine, the Russellers turn out to be quite big players regionally and nationally.
