As parliament is dissolved, Playbook speaks with the outgoing chair of the Commons science committee

The Westminster parliament was dissolved yesterday ahead of the impending election. More than 130 MPs have said they will not stand again—surpassing the 117 that stood down in 1997 (and there’s still time for more).

One recent addition to the cohort of leavers—which includes Theresa May, Michael Gove, Dominic Raab, Harriet Harman and Margaret Hodge—is Greg Clark, chair of the House of Commons science, innovation and technology committee and Conservative MP for Tunbridge Wells.
