Several data releases bring us up to date on migration and graduate earnings

So, the graduate route visa lives on. As we trailed in Playbook earlier this week, the government has wisely decided to retain the scheme, albeit under review and with some tweaks to the overall student migration process.

In doing this, it is following the advice of the Migration Advisory Committee, which it commissioned to review the scheme with what many assumed to be the opposite intention—the desire to find evidence to support major restrictions to the route and possibly its abolition. The MAC supplied no such evidence and the government has decided to keep the visa route in its current form.
