The graduate visa route is given a clean bill of health. How will the government respond?

Universities were fearing the worst. Pundits were predicting catastrophe. In the end, the Migration Advisory Committee has given its firm backing to the present arrangements for international students entering the UK.

At 10am yesterday, the MAC published its “rapid review” of the graduate visa route commissioned by home secretary James Cleverly. At 10:01am, the higher education sector was breathing a huge sigh of relief.
