Universities should publish information about senior-level settlement agreements “as soon as possible” according to a joint review into the departure of Robert Gordon University’s principal, who received a £237,716 settlement.

Former RGU principal Ferdinand von Prondzynski resigned in August this year following controversy over a failure to report that he and vice-principal Gordon McConnell has been co-directors of a company when McConnell was hired.

Aberdeen-based RGU’s accounts for 2017-18 reveal von Prondzynski received a £237,716 termination payment, including a non-contractual £82,914 payment for “loss of office”.
