Steve Bannon, the co-founder of right-wing website Breitbart News, is set to speak at the University of Oxford this week.
Bannon, who served in president Donald Trump’s administration in the United States until August 2017, will speak at an event hosted by the University of Oxford’s debating society, the Oxford Union, on Friday 16 November. He was revealed as a speaker on 14 November, just two days before the members-only event.
The announcement comes shortly after Alice Weidel, the leader of the German far-right party Alternative for Germany, pulled out of an appearance at the Oxford Union scheduled for 7 November.
