Britain’s most expensive graduation ceremonies revealed

The amount that students have to pay to attend their graduation—or to graduate even without attending a ceremony—varies significantly across the UK, an HE investigation has revealed.

According to information gathered from about 130 universities, some students will not have to pay a penny to attend their graduation while others will need to fork out almost £100. That is before you factor in the cost of gown hire, travel and accommodation.

HE looked at both the fees charged to individual students and the rate paid to attend with two accompanying adults. Students can attend their own graduation free of charge at most universities, but there are eight exceptions.
