The number of students with a disability awarded first degrees has increased every year since 2014, but variations exist between subjects, data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency show.

In 2017-18, 14 per cent (66,045) of bachelors degrees were awarded to students with a disability. This is up from 54,720 in 2014-15, according to the HESA data.

Between subjects, the proportion of students with disabilities gaining a first degree varied from 28 per cent of fine art graduates (1,195) to 7 per cent of business studies graduates (1,875).
