Universities not ready for advice demand with work visas

UK’s attractiveness as a study destination could be damaged by under-prepared careers services

More than 70 per cent of university careers services feel unable to cope with current demand from international students, meaning universities could “suffer the consequences” of being under-prepared for the graduate work visa.

In a report on international graduate employability, published on 28 January, vice-chancellor’s body Universities UK found that just 28 per cent of university careers services say they can meet demand for help from international students. A total of 56 per cent said they did not employ any specialist staff to support international graduate employability.
