Independent adjudicator hits back at student unions’ letter on fee refund requests amid Covid-19

The Office for the Independent Adjudicator has defended its complaint-handling process after an open letter from student unions labelled it “totally unequipped” to cope with fee refund requests related to the Coronavirus pandemic.

In an open letter to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), 20 student union representatives urged the markets watchdog to “take action to uphold students’ rights during this pandemic” and “address the broken complaints process students have been given to claim refunds”.
