Harper Adams appoints Monash deputy VC as new head

Ken Sloan will become second-ever head of university after David Llewellyn departs

Ken Sloan has been appointed as the second-ever vice-chancellor of Harper Adams University in Shropshire.

Sloan, the current deputy vice-chancellor at Monash University in Australia, will take up the role at the specialist agricultural institution on 1 November. He replaces David Llewellyn, who took over as principal of Harper Adams University College in 2009 and oversaw its transition to become Harper Adams University in 2012, becoming its inaugural vice-chancellor in the process.
