Welsh students given assurances on A level results before downgrades revealed

Students in Wales have been promised their final A level grades will not be lower than their previous AS level grades.

Welsh education minister Kirsty Williams gave “a guarantee that a learner’s final A level grade cannot be lower than their AS grade” in a statement on 12 August, after the Scottish government abandoned its calculated grades for Scottish Highers following anger over downgraded results.
