South Africans get to grips with donor funding

A Cape Town-based forum of South African university finance officers has been established to troubleshoot problems related to administering donor funding from abroad.

Speaking at the first meeting held at the University of Western Cape on 28 September, Abu Adams of the University of Cape Town’s finance department said the purpose of the forum was to encourage the sharing of experiences. “80 per cent of [our] challenges are the same,” he said.
