African social scientists looking for funding should look to the British Academy. The academy, which distributed US$40 million in 2010/11, offers a number of international grants and scholarships, for which African researchers qualify. Here are some of them.
International partnership and mobility scheme
This grant offers US$16,000 per year to researchers in Africa partnering counterparts in the UK for projects that range between one and three years. The academy is currently accepting applications for the grant. The deadline is 6 February.
