The African Doctoral Academy tries to plug a shortfall in PhD supervisors in the social sciences

‘You can’t solve a problem just by complaining about it’ is an African adage that may encapsulate the values of the African Doctoral Academy (ADA).

After contending for decades with a shortage of PhD supervisors in Africa, six universities on the continent came together to seek a joint solution to the problem.
