Scientist explains winning strategy for repeat funding

Researchers from four continents will share a US$3.5 million European Union grant to study the political and social interactions of countries with Atlantic coasts.

The researchers, who hail from 10 universities, include six from the University of Pretoria’s politics department in South Africa. The six will receive US$237,000 from the grant, which has been awarded from the seventh framework programme (FP7), the EU’s funding programme for research.
