Danish programme’s ‘piecemeal approach’ criticised

A review of a Danish fellowship programme for developing country academics has found a lack of coordination with other Danish development support.

The Danida Fellowship Programme has run since 1990. It aims to build capacity in developing countries through courses, seminars, research projects and exchange programmes. In 2011 the project supported 1,260 developing country academics to the tune of 60 million Danish kroner (US$11m).
