Presidents call IP meeting in May

African heads of state have given the go-ahead for a controversial intellectual property (IP) management body.

A meeting will be held in May to discuss the establishment of the Pan African Intellectual Property Organisation (PAIPO). The African Union Commission will organise the meeting.

The meeting will involve a cross-section of African ministers responsible for IP issues: not just science ministers, but trade and finance ministers too.
