South Africa under spends on TB research

South Africa needs to increase its spend on tuberculosis research if it is to reduce the spread of the disease, according to a paper published in the journal Health Research Policy and Systems this month.

South Africa has the second highest number of new cases of tuberculosis in the world but spends only US$4 million researching prevention and cure.
