Turkey plans 1,000 scholarships

A Turkish graduate scholarship programme for least developed countries (LDCs) will fund about 1,000 science-related masters and PhD students over the next decade.

The opportunity comes from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). Students of natural sciences, engineering and technological sciences, medical sciences, agricultural sciences, social sciences and humanities can apply for the scholarship, which is for study in Turkish universities.

Guliz Suctu, scientific programmes specialist in Turkey’s International Cooperation Department, said that the programme aims to improve the science and technology capacity of LDCs and build scientific and socio-economic collaboration between LDCs and Turkey.
