East African ministers endorse strategic health plan

Health ministers from the East African Community endorsed a five-year strategic health plan for the region at a meeting in Kampala, Uganda, on 27 March.

The plan is a “roadmap for improving and strengthening of the regional health sector through implementation of the various approaches, interventions and innovation in the region”, Richard Sezibera, EAC secretary general, said at the meeting.

It will set the scene for further regional collaboration on health issues, including innovation, he said.
