Kisii University granted one year to put house in order

The Kenya government has given Kisii University a year to improve its standards, reversing a 90-day closure notice.

Education cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i said in a statement issued on 27 January that the decision was taken after consultations with the Commission of University Education and the governing council of the Kisii University.

The university governing council was asked to develop a road map to address challenges facing the institution within 14 days.
