A UK project to study how livestock farmers use antibiotics, and how better diagnostics could reduce its use, will also benefit Tanzania.
The £1.75 million (US$2.26m) project is funded by a group of UK research councils. It will be led by social scientists at the University of Exeter with involvement from other UK institutions.
The project will carry out pilot and capacity building research in Tanzania, working with the country’s scientific community in the field of medicine and animal health.
