The head of agricultural sciences at Uganda’s Christian University has won the 2017 Science by Women award.
The award will let Elizabeth Balyejusa Kizito spend six months at the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona, working with its genomics and bioinformatics units.
The award is given by Spain’s Women for Africa Foundation, a body founded in 2012 by María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, a former vice-president of the country, to promote equal rights and opportunities for women contributing to African progress.
