Kenya has disbursed two-thirds of NRF funding

Kenya’s National Research Fund has disbursed all the non-infrastructure grants from its 2016/17 calls, amounting to nearly US$20 million.

Winners in the categories of postgraduate, multidisciplinary research, and bilateral matching grants have all received their money, according NRF chief executive Jemimah Onsare.

The remaining US$9.6m due to institutions—both public and private—to finance research infrastructure is being processed, she told Research Africa in an interview: “Infrastructure projects will be operational before the end of the current financial year.”
