Nairobi and Chinese company form cancer institute

The University of Nairobi is partnering with a Chinese company to establish a cancer institute at the university.

The launch of the University of Nairobi-Cherami Cancer Institute took place on 17 September.

Nairobi vice-chancellor Peter Mbithi said the institute will contain teaching, training and research facilities. Mbithi added that Nairobi’s institute will work with the National Cancer Institute to develop a national cancer registry for Kenya.
