The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership has announced a new partnership to boost research into neglected infectious diseases in sub-Saharan Africa, specifically leprosy.
The EDCTP signed a funding agreement with the Leprosy Research Initiative on 12 May. LRI is an international leprosy research funder made up of leprosy research agencies in the Europe and North America.
The partnership will issue two calls for funding in 2017, according to the EDCTP. Call information will be divulged has soon as it gets the all clear from the European Union, but it will focus on NIDs which includes leprosy.
