Pharmaceutical giant Merck has established a non-profit foundation which aims to boost health and research capacity in developing countries.
The company unveiled the Merck Foundation in Germany on 27 June. The foundation will focus on science and innovation, with emphasis on the health needs of women and youth. The foundation will be headed by Merck’s Rasha Kelej.
The Foundation will train doctors, give awards for diabetes and hypertension, run a support programme for infertile women, support cancer research, and engage in science and technology advocacy.
