Funding for malaria research has increased according to the latest figures, but so have cases, especially in Africa.
The World Health Organization announced the figures in its latest World Malaria Report on 19 November.
Total malaria R&D funding amounted to US$588 million in 2016, the latest available figures. This showed a slight increase from 2015 and is about equal to the 2014 figure.
