Fairness initiative hopes digital upgrade will boost usage

The Research Fairness Initiative, which allows research institutions to gauge the quality and equity of their partnerships, hopes an imminent upgrade of the tool’s online interface will boost its uptake.

The RFI Team said on 5 March it had received an unspecified but “significant” amount of money from the Botnar Foundation in Switzerland, which specialises in supporting digital innovation.

The grant will allow RFI to address complaints that its tool is administratively heavy, and that its website is not user friendly, Kirsty Kaiser, RFI implementation manager, told Research Africa. It will also let RFI update its user guides.
