Ten projects will share US$17 million in the second grant round of the Human Heredity and Health in Africa (H3Africa) consortium that funds genomics research on the continent.
The winners were announced on 26 September ahead of the H3Africa consortium members’ meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 3 to 6 October.
The projects will get the funding from the US National Institutes of Health programme that kicked off in 2010. They will study a variety of health conditions, as well as improve laboratory equipment.
