African engineering deans meeting in Nigeria agreed that the best way to scale up innovation in their field is to develop public-private partnerships with companies.
The agreement was struck at the third African Engineering Deans Council summit in 24 July at Covenant University in Ota, Nigeria, with participants from Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya and South Africa.
The meeting created a team of industrial players and engineering deans to map out ways to synergise engineering education, research and industrial needs.
