A group of funders have announced a programme to fast-track the careers of Africa’s promising climate researchers.
The Climate Change for Development programme was announced on 18 January. It is a collaboration between the African Academy of Sciences, the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
The programme will award 15 grants worth US$130,000 to support climate researchers for a year. The call for proposals is currently open and closes on 10 February. Successful applicants will receive mentoring, training and opportunities to establish international partnerships of their own.
