UCT appoints dean of science
The University of Cape Town has appointed Maano Ramutsindela as its dean of science. Ramutsindela, a geographer with an interest in land reform and political geography, will take over from Susan Bourne on 1 March. Bourne has been acting dean since 1 January 2018 after a selection committee was unable to reach the required two-thirds majority in favour of any of the three shortlisted candidates put forward to replace Anton le Roex, who stepped down at the end of 2017.
