Grants support African drug discovery research

  

Inaugural drug discovery grants target malaria, tuberculosis, leishmaniasis, E. Coli, and sleeping sickness

Eight African research projects have won seed funding for drug discovery studies on diseases that disproportionately affect the continent. 

The projects, announced on 20 September, will receive US$100,000 each over two years for research into novel treatments for diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, and leishmaniasis.
